  • Author: Dorothy Miler

Description

A decadent breakfast casserole featuring flaky croissants, fresh blueberries, and a rich custard, baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 6 large croissants, torn into pieces
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange torn croissant pieces evenly in the baking dish. Scatter blueberries over the croissants.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissants and blueberries, pressing down lightly to ensure all pieces are soaked.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
