Easy Beer Bread

This Beer Bread is buttery, golden, and perfect with soups, chili, or just a pat of butter. Quick and easy to make, it requires minimal ingredients and yields a deliciously moist bread with a crisp crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 12 ounces beer (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Pour in the beer and stir until just combined; do not overmix.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  5. Bake for 35 minutes.
  6. Remove bread from oven and immediately brush the top with melted butter.
  7. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use a lager or ale for best flavor. Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the bread light and fluffy. Brushing with butter after baking adds a rich, golden crust.
