Beef Tacos

Classic, flavorful beef tacos with a homemade seasoning blend, perfect for a quick and satisfying weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 taco shells, warmed
  • Shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and salsa for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned and the onion is tender, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the tomato sauce and water. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
  4. Spoon the beef mixture into warmed taco shells. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and salsa as desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, toast the taco shells in the oven for a few minutes before filling. Leftover beef mixture can be refrigerated for up to 3 days. Customize toppings to your taste—avocado, jalapeños, and cilantro are great additions.
