BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Mozzarella Sticks

Crispy bacon-wrapped mozzarella sticks glazed with BBQ sauce, perfect as a savory appetizer with ooey gooey cheese inside and smoky bacon outside.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon
  • 4 mozzarella sticks
  • 0.25 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Wrap each mozzarella stick with two slices of bacon.
  2. Mix flour and breadcrumbs in separate bowls and beat the eggs in another bowl.
  3. Dip each bacon-wrapped mozzarella stick first in flour, then in beaten eggs, and then coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Deep fry the coated sticks until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Brush BBQ sauce over the cooked bacon-wrapped sticks before serving.

Notes

Ensure mozzarella sticks are frozen before wrapping to prevent cheese melting too quickly during frying. Soak toothpicks if used to secure bacon to avoid burning. Serve immediately for best taste and texture.
