A hearty and flavorful lasagna combining classic cheeseburger ingredients with a smoky BBQ twist, layered with bacon, ground beef, cheeses, and lasagna noodles baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup diced cooked bacon (about 6 slices)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce, plus extra for layering
  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, diced bacon, chopped onion, and minced garlic until beef is browned and vegetables are softened. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Stir in 1/2 cup BBQ sauce into the cooked meat mixture; remove from heat.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
  5. Spread a thin layer of BBQ sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread one-third of the meat mixture over noodles.
  7. Spread one-third of the ricotta and cheese mixture over the meat.
  8. Repeat layering with noodles, meat mixture, and ricotta mixture two more times.
  9. Finish with a top layer of noodles and the remaining shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  10. Bake covered with foil for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
  11. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use real American cheese slices for a creamier texture if desired. For a spicier kick, add chopped jalapeños to the meat mixture. Refrigerate for a few hours before baking to allow flavors to meld.
