Bacon Patty Melt

A flavorful patty melt featuring seasoned beef patties topped with cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, red onions, jalapeños, and crispy bacon, toasted between buttered buns for a crispy finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1.5 tbsp Kosher Salt
  • 1.5 tbsp Black Pepper
  • 1.5 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 cup Yellow Mustard
  • Beef Tallow as needed
  • 1 cup Sliced Red Onions
  • 1 cup Sliced Jalapeño
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 68 slices Cheddar Cheese
  • 68 Burger Buns
  • 1 lb Bacon
  • Butter for toasting buns

Instructions

  1. Season ground beef with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder; form into patties.
  2. Drizzle yellow mustard on patties before flipping during cooking in beef tallow.
  3. Start with an upside-down bottom buttered bun, layer a slice of cheese and some BBQ sauce.
  4. Add double cooked beef patties, sliced red onions, and jalapeños on top.
  5. Add more BBQ sauce and crispy bacon strips, then top with the upside-down top bun.
  6. Place assembled patty melts on a skillet and toast until the buns are golden brown and cheese melts.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy.

Notes

Use good quality ground beef or ground chuck for best flavor. Toasting the buns in butter provides a crisp, golden crust. Adding yellow mustard before flipping the patties adds a tangy twist. Jalapeños add a spicy kick but can be omitted for milder flavor.
